Rio Terecay Colombia

Exotic river camping

Adventurous as comfortably as achievable.

Trip Details

Rio Terecay season begins in December, when the rainy season has past and the Guides are able to explore the newly exposed river runs, sandbars and fishing locations.

2024 is fully booked. Please inquire for 2025 season

Rio Terecay destination is an ideal adventure for the peacock bass anglers seeking big fish in locations that other outfitters cannot reach.  It takes two planes, a cross country trek and a boat ride to reach camp.  While all this is organized and normal protocol, it makes for an outstanding adventure.  So much so that typically 6 or 8 people in camp will be return anglers.  Base camp locations vary from season to season depending upon the river system and fishing conditions the guides have experienced.  Fishing is full-day, with lunches typically along the river in a cool, comfortable location.  Boats are ultra-light aluminum hull skiffs powered by tiller-steer outboards.  Two anglers have plenty of space for a day's worth of battling with giants.

Base camp will see anglers each having large, modern tents to themselves.  Your accommodations will include a rigid framed bed with an actual mattress and a table large enough for necessaries. Meals are served in the large camp tent with an enjoyable mixture of recognizable fare with a delicious infusion of local flair.

Evening relaxation is typically camp-style around a central location river side.

Other amenities include:

3 meals a day prepared by the wonderful camp ladies.  Plenty of protein and carbs to keep up your fishing stamina.

Snacks are loaded into the boat coolers each day.

Cold sodas, bottled water and sports drinks are in camp and onboard each day.

Electricity is via generator so any modern electronics can be charged easily.

Beer, wine or alcohol can be arranged.

Daily laundry service.

Private camp showers.

Private water-fed porcelain toilets with a sanitary septic system.
